Suezmax

Main project of the resurgence of the naval industry in Brazil, the series with 10 Suezmax- tankers vessel was part of Transpetro’s Fleet Modernization and Expansion Program (PROMEF). With 274 m length (LOA), 48 m beam and 17 m draught, this vessel can carry up to 157,000 tons of crude oil. This vessel meets the dimensions of the Suez Canal, hence the origin of its name.

It is 248 m long (LOA), 44 m beam and 15 m draft, this vessel can carry up to 114 thousand tons of crude oil.
The name is based on the terminology Average Freight Rate Assessment (AFRA), or, in Portuguese, Valor Médio de Frete.
